Angela began ballet at age 5 at the Shan-Yee Poon Ballet School. She joined SFYBA in 2002, and appeared as soloist in The Nutcracker as Dewdrop Fairy and Arabian Princess, and also danced in Daydream and Street Scene, original works by Kellie Foy and Cassandra Seeger. In 2004, she performed in Hong Kong at Christine Liao School of Ballet. For two summers, she attended ballet intensives at the Southwest Classical Dance Institute in Arizona. In 2006, Angela furthered her training at City Ballet School, working with choreographer Yuri Zhukov from San Francisco Ballet. In addition to ballet, she was a soloist in classical Chinese dance with Peony Performing Arts from 2004 to 2008, and performed at the Ethnic Dance Festival, Asian Art Museum, and Flint Center. Angela was also guest artist for the California Historical Society and for World Arts West’s tour to Santa Barbara. Currently she performs contemporary works with Lily Cai Chinese Dance Company, and have toured Mexico, Texas, Washington and Nevada. As a teacher for children and adults at SFYBA, Angela hopes to share with them the beauty and discipline of ballet.
