Student Performance 2010
Saturday June 5th and Sunday June 6th at the Mercy High School Theater
Performing is an invaluable part of a dancer’s training. The stage transforms a dancer into an artist. Students’ dedication to ballet technique in the classroom is combined with their imagination and the end result is a beautiful, exciting and rewarding experience. Performing builds confidence and character by teaching dedication, teamwork and musicality. At SFYBA our school year concludes with a student performance where all the students from every class participate. SFYBA is also the home of the San Francisco Youth Ballet Theatre (SFYBT) which is a non-profit performing association bring ballet the youth community. The repertoire consists of such classics as “The Nutcracker”, “Copellia”, Les Sylphides”, “A Mid Summer Night’s Dream”, “Peter & the Wolf,” “The Sleeping Beauty,” “Alice in Wonderland,” and “Cinderella.” SFYBT also performs for low income school children throughout the city of San Francisco.
